We have all been there before. Demotivation strikes even with our greatest passions and ventures. Maybe you hate your job and are burned out. Maybe you love your job but just feel slightly off. Maybe your building a business but for whatever moment, at that particular moment, you feel slightly demotivated.
If we only did things when we really felt like doing them, 90% of anything we do probably wouldn’t get done. For the most part, you have to push through the boundaries, keep real perspective and a positive mindset whilst pushing through.
Nevertheless, when serious demotivation strikes there are things that can be done to reignite the fire.
For example, I love making videos and offering value to people. There was one day last month where I just did not feel the juices flowing and felt a little empty with it all. Unsure why this was, I did what I believe to be the #1 thing to do in these types of situations. Those ones where your just not feeling it.
What is it you may ask? UNPLUG.
What do I mean by unplug? I mean do something completely different. Go on an adventure, workout, yoga, grab lunch with a friend and deliberately forget your phone, hike the hills, buy a puppy (joking), read a great book, have a day out with the fam and the list goes on.
There are so many things we can do, it’s all subjective. Point is, do something that works for you and takes your mind completely off what it is you usually are doing.
One thing I love doing. Putting a great podcast on flowing through my earphones and go for a run. It clears my mind and gives me some great perspective as I am usually listening to some fire speakers.
What are your passions? What do you like to do except your job or working your business? Are you doing enough of that? Sometimes it’s not always practical, and the fact is, there is no secret balance of life. The balance is completely individual and completely up to you to decide what works.
It’s healthy to unplug every once in a while.
